Abstract
The library, in collaboration with the writing center, offers a seven-week summer thesis writing program for engineering and computer science graduate students. Held from Tuesday to Thursday for three hours each day, the program provides structured writing time, interactive lunch & learn sessions, and individualized tutoring. Students enhance their writing, research, and time management skills while addressing challenges like Imposter Syndrome and academic publishing. The supportive environment helps students boost productivity, manage anxiety, and build confidence, ensuring they gain the tools necessary for successful thesis or dissertation completion. Objective 1: Describe the structure and components of the seven-week summer thesis writing program, including the schedule, interactive sessions, and individualized tutoring. Objective 2: Analyze the program’s feedback through survey results from previous participants, highlighting their experiences and the benefits they gained from the program and community built. Objective 3: Evaluate the program’s effectiveness in addressing common challenges faced by graduate students, such as writing and research skills to mental health issues, and judge its overall impact on their thesis or dissertation writing process.
