Abstract

The advent of artificial intelligence (AI) tools has transformed the way people work, making AI an integral component of the contemporary workplace. Given the growing prominence of human–AI collaboration, it is critical for researchers to examine how employees perceive and engage with AI tools at work. This symposium focuses on employees’ perceptions and attitudes toward AI use in the workplace. Specifically, the papers included in this symposium investigate factors shaping individuals’ adoption of AI tools, the potential adverse consequences of disclosing AI use, and practices that can enhance human–AI collaboration effectiveness. Collectively, these five papers offer complementary perspectives that advance our understanding of the AI’s role in the workplace, and the discussion aims to articulate clear directions for future research on human–AI collaboration as well as to inform effective managerial practices.
