Abstract
Abstract only
Employee voice, or speaking up on work-related issues, has important implications for organizations. While voice is generally assumed to enhance organizational functioning, research on voice has primarily focused on the individual- and team-level antecedents and outcomes, leaving organizational-level factors underexplored. Furthermore, the limited efforts to connect speaking up behaviors with organizational outcomes suggest that voice operates in a more nuanced and complex way at the organizational level compared to the individual- and team-level. These issues highlight the need for deeper exploration of how voice is embedded within organizations. To address this, the proposed symposium brings together a collection of four papers that advance our understanding of organizational-level relationships with speaking up.
