Abstract
Objective: The purpose of this study is to determine the intra and interobserver reliability of the ultrasonographic measurement of the thickness of acetabular, cartilage, explore its clinical utility and define its normal values. Method: We have performed the measurement of several ultrasonographic parameters. This study was done on the basis of 50 patients. Two different observers performed every sonogram, and both repeated the sonogram one week later. Beta Angle and Acetabular Floor Thickness. Our study suggests that the normal values of the acetabular cartilage are those near the average: 2.16 mm. +/-0.81. This means that 95% of the children with an alpha angle greater than 60 degrees had values between 0.54 millimeters and 3.78 millimeters, which we propose as the normal values of the acetabular cartilage.
