Abstract
Amenorrhea, or the absence of menses, may be either a transient or permanent phenomenon caused by disruption at any point in the hypothalamic-pituitary-gonadal (HPG) axis or female reproductive system. The epidemiology, evaluation, and management of common causes of primary and secondary amenorrhea will be discussed in this chapter.
