Abstract
Primary malignant bone tumors account for approximately 6% of all childhood cancers. The most common are osteosarcoma and Ewing sarcoma family of tumors. Often manifesting with bone pain, with or without associated mass, each has unique radiographic and histologic characteristics, with biopsy required for definitive diagnosis. Management is collaborative, relying on a combination of chemotherapy, radiation, and/or surgery. Identification of targeted therapies is necessary to reduce toxicity and improve long-term outcomes.
