Abstract
The purpose of this chapter is to describe the characteristics of delirium, a common and serious brain dysfunction in the healthcare setting. Several medications are known to be associated with delirium in clinical settings. This chapter will cover the epidemiology of delirium and the risk of delirium when exposed to medications that increase or exacerbate delirium, termed deliriogenic medications, and how to mitigate the risk of delirium based on the existing evidence.
