Abstract
This chapter discusses the psychophysical basis for visual field testing and provides an overview of the various forms of visual field testing that are available. It also presents guidelines for interpretation of visual field results, reports determinations of the pattern, shape, and location of visual field loss, and offers a presentation of artifactual visual field test results and how to avoid them. Methods of assessing progression and improvement of visual field results over time are evaluated, and new forms of visual field testing using tablets, virtual reality headsets, and secure internet web sites are introduced.
