Abstract

Peripheral neuropathies are among the most common neurologic disorders encountered in general medical practice. Common causes include inflammatory, inherited, toxic, and metabolic disorders, with diabetes being the most common etiology. Effective treatments are available for many forms, and promising therapeutics are in development for others.
