Abstract

The patient and surgical site were identified and marked. The patient underwent anesthesia per the anesthesia team. The patient was positioned supine on the operative table with all bony prominences padded. IV antibiotics were administered. An examination under anesthesia revealed a small effusion, positive Lachman’s, pivot shift, and anterior drawer tests while posterior drawer and collateral ligament testing was normal. Soft roll and tourniquet cuff were placed about the right upper thigh, and the leg was then held by the thigh positioner. The right lower extremity was then sterilely prepped and draped in the standard surgical fashion. A time out was performed with the entire surgical, nursing, and anesthesia teams.
