Abstract
Southern literary activism consists of stories that raise consciousness and incite political and social change about injustices in the U.S. South, including European colonization, Indian removal, slavery, white supremacy, labor exploitation, discrimination against LGBTQ+ communities, undocumented people, incarcerated people, and others oppressed by hegemonic political and cultural forces.
