Abstract

Atrial flutter and intra-atrial reentrant tachycardia (IART) are forms of reentrant supraventricular tachycardia (SVT) in which the reentry circuit is contained exclusively within the atria. This reentrant circuit relies upon anatomical or functional barriers within the atria which are often exposed and amplified by diseased atrial myocardium.
