Abstract
This chapter discusses air quality, and weather and climate interactions. Climate factors influence air pollution levels through chemical processes, transport and mixing. Air pollutants and their precursors interact with solar radiation and change cloud properties, affecting the planet's energy balance and climate. The interactions between air quality, weather, and climate worsen their adverse effects. Measures addressing air pollution and climate change simultaneously, like transitioning to renewable energy, are important. Cities, major sources of greenhouse gases and air pollutants, play a crucial role. However, strategies to alleviate urban heat stress and improve air quality should consider potential implications on chemical reactions and air pollutant dispersion.
