Abstract
Telehealth uses electronic technologies to support healthcare at a distance. Its application is widespread across healthcare. In the field of applied behavior analysis, the application of telehealth has seen tremendous growth, especially since the precipitous event of the COVID-19 pandemic. Specifically, telehealth has been used as a service delivery model in the areas of challenging behavior, skill acquisition, and other areas of social significance (e.g., toileting, sleep). Its configurations have ranged from synchronous to asynchronous connections in homes, regional clinics, or schools with behavior analysts serving as an implementer or coach. When serving as a coach, implementers are most frequently caregivers. Outcomes demonstrate telehealth's effectiveness, accessibility, and cost-savings across applications in applied behavior analysis. In this chapter, we summarize the literature on telehealth applications across challenging behavior, skill acquisition, and other areas of social significance, as well as briefly describe considerations, benefits, and limitations unique to telehealth.
