Abstract

Cystic fibrosis transmembrane conductance regulator (CFTR) is critical for pancreas health and its deficiency leads to a variety of pancreatic damage from recurrent inflammation to chronic damage, exocrine pancreatic insufficiency, diabetes, and potentially cancer. Although treatment of CFTR‐related pancreatic disease has targeted the sequelae so far, future therapeutics should focus on correcting and/or modulating CFTR function in the pancreas.
