Abstract
An overview of early results that have been published in the peer-reviewed literature from the electric and magnetic field instruments on the NASA Van Allen Probes mission is presented. New science on a variety of waves from low frequencies-ULF and EMIC waves-to higher frequencies-whistler mode chorus and plasmaspheric hiss are summarized with an emphasis on key result. Additionally, the physics of how these waves interact with and alter the populations of radiation belt particles is discussed.
