Abstract
In this chapter, we discuss a frequency approach for Hammerstein model identification. The method is based on the fundamental frequency and therefore, no a priori information on the structure of the nonlinearity is required. Moreover, the method is not limited to Hammerstein models whose linear part is a finite-order rational transfer functions, but applies to Hammerstein models with a non-parametric linear part. The method can be easily extended to Wiener models with minor modifications. The chapter is based on an article [1], IEEE Trans. on Automatic Control, Vol. 48, pp.530-542, 2003 with permission from IEEE Intellectual Property Rights Office. All the proofs can be found in [1].
