Abstract
Glaucoma is a condition characterized by optic neuropathy and corresponding visual field loss. Even in the presence of excellent imaging tests of the optic nerve, it is critical to understand the functional consequences of the disease. In this chapter, we review the various types of perimetry tests, testing strategies, test outputs, progression analyses, artifacts, and other important considerations related to visual field testing and interpretation. In addition, we discuss various electrophysiological approaches that have been attempted for visual field functional assessment. Visual field testing remains critical in the management of glaucoma despite challenges associated with testing.
