Abstract
The Mars-solar wind interaction has a unique character, thanks to its tenuous and extended atmosphere and its unique remanent crustal magnetic fields. The resulting magnetosphere is dynamic and variable, and has significant asymmetries caused by the presence of crustal magnetic fields and multi-ion physics.
