Abstract
When Spaniards arrived in the PhilippinesPhilippines at the beginning of the sixteenth century, they were surprised by the presence of Muslim communities in the South of the archipelago. From that moment on, a number of Spanish colonial agents wrote about different aspects of Christian-MuslimSpanish Empireand Christian-Muslim contact contact in the remote area of the Spanish empireSpanish Empire to analyze it for themselves as well as for the authorities of the Iberian Peninsula.
