Abstract
Clinicians have been searching for means to alleviate incapacitating pain for a long time. Perineural injection of various substances found to reduce pain, by interrupting neural conduction, chemical neurolysis, or other mechanisms of action. The medications most commonly administered during interventional procedures for pain management include local anaesthetics, corticosteroids, and neurolytic agents. This chapter contains a brief review of the most commonly used agents in interventional procedures for trigeminal neuralgia (TGN).
