Abstract
There are many ways to assay for superoxide dismutase (SOD). Each method has advantages; the nitroblue tetrazolium (NBT) assay has the main advantage of sensitivity. This sensitivity allows one to measure SOD activity in crude homogenates of tumor tissue, which in general have very low SOD activity.
