Abstract

Patient was brought to the operating room and positioned supine on the operating table with all bony prominences padded. General anesthesia was induced. A Foley catheter was placed under sterile technique. IV antibiotics were administered intravenously. She was then placed in a beach chair position with care taken to protect his or her nonoperative extremities. Fluoroscopy was positioned at the head of the table and views were checked to confirm the ability to visualize the proximal humerus. The left upper extremity was prepped and draped in the standard sterile fashion. A multidisciplinary time-out was performed.
