Abstract

Based on electrophysiological and pharmacological properties, voltage-dependent Ca2+ channels are classified as L-, N-, T-, and P/Q- type Ca2+ channels (1,2). The brain N-type Ca2+ channels (3) and the skeletal muscle L-type (4,5) have both been purified and shown to have a similar subunit composition (α1-, α2/δ-, and β-subunits).
