Abstract
An extremely hot topic in vascular biology
is the role of superoxide and other reactive oxygen species (ROS) in cell signaling and in pathophysiology of vascular
disease. The role of ROS in the vulnerable plaque has received remarkably little
attention, but may be central to understanding development and rupture of the
vulnerable plaque.1
