Abstract
The focus of this chapter is on the different settings where cognitive-behavior group therapy (CBGT) is utilized for youth, such as schools, outpatient, inpatient, residential, transitional living settings, and virtual or remote settings. The various factors that may impact cognitive behavioral group interventions vary by setting and should be considered in the process of developing, designing, and implementing groups. An exploration of how group composition (e.g., homogeneity, heterogeneity, assessment design, and evaluation) may impact youth in different settings will be discussed, as well as the potential barriers that may arise specific to each setting. There are considerations for cognitive-behavior therapy interventions based on the setting; however, when groups are carefully constructed, and obstacles related to the setting are considered and managed, CBGT is an excellent modality to treat youth in any setting.
