Abstract
The Shouldice repair of inguinal hernia is another method of repairing groin hernias without the use of mesh. It is performed for direct or indirect inguinal hernias. It may be performed in patients with coexisting inguinal and femoral hernias as part of a complete groin repair. This chapter describes indications, essential steps, variations, and complications of this procedure. It provides a detailed template operative note for the procedure.
