Abstract
Transcatheter ablation of cardiac arrhythmias emerged in the 1990s as a definitive treatment for many forms of tachyarrhythmias. Indications for radiofrequency ablation are outlined. Techniques for radiofrequency ablation and cryoablation are discussed, particularly in children. Catheter navigation and mapping, approach to accessory pathways, ectopic foci, pericardial approach to epicardial sites, approach to AV nodal reentry tachycardia (AVNRT), ventricular tachycardia, its use in patients with congenital heart disease as well as complications are outlined.
