Abstract
Since the invention of assisted reproductive technology (ART) treatments, several key adjunct procedures have been added at timely intervals. Although many of these techniques were introduced on an experimental basis and eventually lost their "glamour", oocyte cryopreservation is a technique that stood the test of time. Freezing of human germ cells or tissues plays an essential role in providing reproductive autonomy and empowerment for persons interested in preserving their future fertility potential.
