Leveraging Technology to Conduct Usability Evaluation of an Online Toolkit
American Evaluation Association Conference (Minneapolis, Minnesota)
11/14/2019
Abstract
With current advances in technology, more programs are producing technology-based deliverables. Our presentation aims to illustrate the promises and challenges of using a remote conferencing software as a tool for evaluators to respond to the changing needs of their clients. In this session, the presenters will present on the usability evaluation of an online toolkit developed by the National Network of Libraries of Medicine. The aim of the toolkit is to provide resources for librarians to engage their communities in health-literacy programming. The session’s audience will hear from the evaluators about their use of Zoom, a video conferencing software, as a medium to observe and authentically engage with participants in geographically dispersed locations as they navigated the toolkit to perform various tasks during the evaluation process. The audience will also hear from the toolkit developers about how they used the evaluation findings to inform the toolkit development process
