In this Studio Talk, Geb Thomas, professor of engineering at the University of Iowa, discusses the points of intersection between STEM and the arts, and how and why a collaborative approach can improve the study of both. He discusses typical design processes for engineers and how these might intersect with the processes of artists, practitioners and academics working in other disciplines. The talk includes some example projects, potentials for collaboration, challenges and opportunities.
