Abstract
The application of Particle Flow Algorithms to the measurement of hadronic jets requires calorimeters with extremely fine segmentation. Within the PFA paradigm the role of the hadron calorimeter is to measure the energy of neutral hadrons, i.e. neutrons and K-L(O)'s. We propose to use Resistive Plate Chambers as active medium for the hadron calorimeter of a detector for the International Linear Collider. We present our plans for the construction of a I m 3 prototype section of a hadron calorimeter to be tested in the Fermilab test beam and the current status of the project is reviewed.
