Abstract
Cooperative learning lectures are discussed as a strategy to get students actively involved in discovering concepts during the class period. This strategy provides a strong foundation for integrating engineering research into undergraduate coursework. A five-step plan is presented on combining cooperative learning and research exposure, using my undergraduate simulation course as an example.
