Automated Process Planning In Flexible Manufacturing Systems

A considerable effort has been spent on developing automated tools for process planning. However, as yet there is no efficient automated process planning system available. This is a result of lack of appropriate methodologies for solving such a complex problem. In this paper a new modeling approach to this problem and some of the solution procedures are presented. A role of the automated process planning in flexible manufacturing systems is also discussed.
