Abstract

This paper considers finite time error recovery in ADPCM systems under the assumption of perfect prediction, but adaptive quantization with nonstationary prediction. Sufficient conditions are given on the average rate of quantizer step size adaptation and variation in the predictor parameters that causes the ADPCM system to recover from initial errors in a finite time.
