Abstract
This paper summarizes a minisymposium devoted to the physics of partially ionized plasmas in astrophysics. The theme of the minisymposium is that the presence of neutrals in a plasma can be more than just a detail, but can introduce new and significant internal dynamics. The symposium considered partial ionization effects in the solar atmosphere, the solar wind, the region of interaction between the solar wind and the interstellar medium, and the interstellar medium itself. Papers in the symposium dealt with theory, astronomical observations, and laboratory measurements.
