Abstract
The viscoelastic properties of strongly-coupled Yukawa liquids are investigated by computing the complex shear viscosity eta(omega) using three methods of molecular dynamics simulation: equilibrium, nonequilibrium, and Langevin dynamics. A change from viscous to elastic response is observed with increasing frequency, as well as a decrease of the magnitude of the viscosity with increasing frequency. The structure of the transverse current autocorrelation functions reveals the onset of a shear mode. These functions also make it possible to derive the wavenumber (length scale) dependence of the shear viscosity.
