Abstract

Design, as many activities, requires careful planning. Companies are finding that new design procedures and systematic methods are needed to effectively design products and components. This paper addresses the importance of a systematic approach to the design process. The basic idea behind the approach presented is to reduce the design time horizon and hence the total design cost.
