Finite element investigation of anterior plate and bone graft load sharing in the cervical spine

Abstract
An experimentally validated C4-C5 cervical spine finite element model was developed to predict load sharing between an anterior plate and graft under simple compression and combined loadings before and after consolidation of the bone graft. Model predictions were compared with published in vitro cadaver data.
