Abstract
In recent years, worldwide water policy and management have come to address the fundamentally interconnected nature of watershed resources using a holistic, integrated approach to water management, whereby the whole watershed system is taken into account. The main goal of this paper is to provide an illustration of the development of an information-centric system (ICS) for the management of watershed resources applied to two Romanian Watersheds: Arges and Dambovita. In the present context, ICS is defined as an integrated information and communication system relying on contemporary CI components such as scientific workflows (automated coupling of data with models), automated web publishing mechanisms, mash-ups of web technologies and semantic content repositories.
