Abstract
This paper reports results from an experimental study performed to quantify manual dexterity of older adults. The Purdue pegboard dexterity test was administered to 57 older adults aged 60-90 (mean age: 72.5 years, SD: 7.1 years). Performance scores on an assembly task using the Purdue pegboard were obtained. Regression results indicate that assembly performance in older adults is significantly affected by age (p < .05) Performance in older men and women does not show significant differences.
