Abstract
Commercial fishing in the coralville reservoir, Iowa, was banned in 1975 because the fish were found to contain significantly high pesticide residues (especially dieldrin). The loadings, fate, and transport of pesticides in the coralville reservoir are calculated. To estimate the time for recovery of the fishery, a simple pesticide model that assumes a completely mixed, steady state reservoir, is developed.
