Abstract

As scientists and researchers gain knowledge and continue to deal with vast amounts of new information-including digital data, research documentation, and educational course materials globally-scaled digital library (DL) systems become increasing v important environments for international collaboration. This paper presents a framework of Grid-enhanced International Digital Library (GridIDL) for medical imaging - an innovative Internet service of medical imaging and collaborative tools for future research and clinical use. The GridIDL system deploys Grid computing to applications of medical imaging by dynamically integrating image database and analysis tools together on a global scale. This study serves as the initiative and link-age between Grid middleware and medical imaging applications.
