Abstract

We study Surface phonon polaritons (SPhPs) resonances in 4H-SiC gratings using cavity and transmission line models that include the electric field distribution. So, we can accurately predict quality factors, mode frequency, and reflectance that agree with numerical simulations. These approaches allow predicting a narrow spectral window for efficient SPhP-based sensing.
