Abstract
This dataset includes monthly gross primary production (GPP) and evapotranspiration (ET) estimates for global drylands at 0.05° resolution for January 2003 through December 2022 (MODIS only) and April 2015 through December 2022 (MODIS and SMAP). Eddy covariance GPP and ET observations from a network of 33 sites were upscaled using an ensemble of artificial neural networks (ANNs) based on MODIS surface reflectance, MODIS land surface temperature, SMAP soil moisture/temperature, and MODIS plant functional type fractional cover. See Methodological Information in the readme file for more details on the upscaling approach.
