Abstract
The focal point of this dissertation is the examination of innovation's impact on crowdfunding performance. To achieve this, we devise a text analytic method utilizing deep learning techniques to extract innovation-centric information from texts. We then conduct an empirical investigation to scrutinize the correlation between crowdfunding campaign performance and product innovation, as claimed by fundraisers. Moreover, we propose a comprehensive framework for quantifying product innovativeness, which entails comparing the claimed innovation with past innovation claims. We also analyze the impact of the new product development (NPD) stage on the relationship between product innovativeness and crowdfunding performance.
