Background: There is limited research and evidence on whether Achilles tendon ruptures should be treated conservatively or with surgery when treating the public. Case Description: Patient is a 67-year-old male who injured his right ankle when he stepped into a rabbit hole. He was diagnosed with an Achilles tendon partial rupture on the right and Achilles tendinosis on the left. Intervention: The primary interventions used include shuttle calf raises, seated calf and soleus stretching, single leg balance, and gait training. Outcome Measures: Progress was reported based on ability to do a double leg calf raise without upper extremity support. Ankle range of motion into dorsiflexion was also used to indicate improvement in body function. Discussion: This case report provides an insight into one patient’s experience with conservative management of Achilles tendon rupture. More research will be needed with a larger sample size to be integrated into the general population.
