Abstract
Neurobiology (commonly used synonymously with Neuroscience) is the study of any aspect of the nervous system from any organism. It includes a broad range of investigations from molecular to cellular to network to systems to behavioral, and from in vitro to in vivo to in silico, and includes studies of neurons, glia and any other cellular elements. The field involves the use of a wide-range of techniques and conceptual approaches borrowed from essentially any other discipline. This section of the Reference Module in Biomedical Sciences includes articles on all these different aspects of neurobiology from basic science to human disease.
