- Public Abstract (ETD)
This work is a synthesis of my lived memory and imagined futures spoken through a spiritual collaboration with the land. It is universal and personal. Public and private. Specific and vague. Magical and mundane. It is the result of carefully planned generation and improvisation. With this work I tap into craft, botany, queerness, and magic to create meanings and scale for experiences that are greater than the sum of their parts.
I let these words flow: words of protection, curses, and sweet nothings. These words take the form of ribbons flowing from myself in a ritual of transmission, emptying the words that have been building within my tingling fingertips. I intend to keep filling rooms with these words, strewn about as I relive learning to garden with my grandmother, the passion of a summer love affair, and discovering the wonder of a new landscape. My closest confidants are the plants I tend along the way, for they are tended by the same fingers that hold these words. This is a naturism, my reverence for the lands that have held me in their arms.
