A reflection on acting: embracing surrender

Good acting is when an actor is grounded, takes risks, is alive in the present moment, and allows their partner to affect them. In order to understand a character, I had to first start to understand myself. Training to become a better actor requires having stamina for constantly facing oneself and demands that you hold the mirror up to your own reflection, noticing yourself with complete honesty. I will entail the physical barriers that hold me back from becoming a better actor and an updated perspective on my process with my newfound knowledge within this paper.
